Summer in Space concept was piloted in Norway in 2013. It was a two-week intensive course in which 16 students took part from four different higher education institutions. The feedback of the students, teachers and the local company as a commissioner indicated that it was a good initiative and worth continuing in the future. Based on the development suggestions of the pilot course, Summer in Space 2 was implemented in Mikkeli in August 2014. It was a three-week course in which 31 students and eight guest lecturers representing nine different nationalities participated.
